There are, no doubt, quite a number of phrases/sentences in Scripture where every single word has a significant meaning. I try to look for things like this; sometime a single word or two repeated several times. “I will” is a typical example, often found in Psalms, where the psalmist makes a series of promises to God. We can do likewise, not to gain salvation which is a free gift, but in grateful thanks for what God has already given us.
Great timing .
Just received a really difficult phone call which evoked lots of emotions.
This reminds me to follow Jesus and Jesus alone.
Praise God
Thanks for sharing once more.
As I sit here pondering, I am taking myself back to that same old time song. Tambourine knocking people of God swaying, hand clapping singing follow follow…. It was so easy then to sing the words not actually taking on board the real and true meaning . Life gets in the way I follow… situations and circumstances…. I follow. This is a hard road, a rocky road with its ups and downs, twists an turns. I intend to hold on no matter what and strive to follow with all my heart.
Thank you so much sis for your words and thoughts. You have truly been an inspiration to me
I’m with you, recalling how it was ‘back in the day’ when we used to sing this song! I agree; it is so easy to sing the words without really paying close attention, or indeed being intentional to live what we say and sing.
Continue to hold fast the profession of your hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23.
It is reassuring to know that once we make the decision to follow Christ, then we need no other map. Our journeys may not always be easy and at times we may falter in our thinking of how we can ‘control and lead situations’, but if we steadfastly follow Jesus then we will have a successful outcome.
The song “no Turning back “ by Brandon Heath. Comes to mind.
I have decided to follow Jesus, No turning back, No turning back. Just a few of the powerful lyrics.
The road may be narrow, which makes it harder to turn around, so no turning back!! Gods plan is perfect so there is no easy way to turn back.
He arranged our journey, and it was part of his perfect plan.
NO TURNING BACK !
PHILIPPIANS 3: 14
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Amen. ‘I will’ – 2 very small words, but they carry such weight!

Steadfastly – Amen. That is my hope and prayer, that we will be steadfast in our pursuit of Him.

I love the thought that ‘the road may be narrow, which makes it harder to turn around, so no turning back!!’
Amen – so let it be, that we continue to follow on.
